Elbe Flugzeugwerke (EFW) has completed the latest phase of its cooperation with EgyptAir Cargo by redelivering the fifth and final Airbus A330-200P2F aircraft covered by its current agreement with the Egyptian carrier.
The delivery marks another milestone in a partnership that stretches back almost 30 years. EgyptAir was the launch customer for EFW’s A330-200P2F programme and took delivery of its first converted aircraft in 2018.
With the latest aircraft now handed back to the airline, EFW has redelivered a total of nine freighters to EgyptAir from different generations of Airbus widebody aircraft at its facilities in Dresden, Germany.
The A330-200P2F conversion programme is a joint effort involving ST Engineering Aerospace, Airbus and their joint venture, EFW. EFW is responsible for the industrialisation, sales and marketing of the freighter conversion programme, while the broader A330P2F programme itself was launched in 2012.
EgyptAir Cargo received its first A330-200P2F in August 2018, following the completion of test flights and certification by both the European Aviation Safety Agency and the Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority. At that time, the carrier had firm orders for three A330-200P2F aircraft.
The second aircraft followed in February 2019 after completing its conversion at EFW during the second half of 2018. The aircraft was planned to replace EgyptAir Cargo’s earlier A300-600P2F freighter generation while improving the airline’s cargo capabilities through the A330-200P2F’s combination of range, volume and payload.
The completion of the current project represents another important step in the longstanding relationship between EFW and EgyptAir Cargo, according to the conversion specialist.

For EgyptAir Cargo, the successful redelivery of the latest A330-200P2F also represents a significant achievement in the cooperation between the two organisations.
