Japanese shipowner K Line has acquired the remaining stake in K Line Wind Service, taking full ownership of the offshore wind joint venture.
K Line Wind Service was previously operated as a joint venture with Kawasaki Kinkai Kisen, a K Line subsidiary.
Established in 2021, the business is active in offshore wind support vessel operations, including work vessels and geotechnical survey ships.
K Line said the acquisition is intended to speed up decision-making and create a more integrated operating structure, helping the business grow more effectively while enhancing the overall corporate value of the wider K Line Group.
The company’s offshore support operations span multiple segments, including support services linked to marine resource development and offshore wind projects, as well as marine surveys, offshore construction, towing and maritime salvage.
