Victoriano Perez Mies has been appointed chief manufacturing and operations officer of McCain Foods. He joins the Canadian frozen food maker with almost two decades of experience at PepsiCo.
A McCain Foods spokesperson confirmed the appointment but declined to comment further ahead of publication.
Mies is shifting his focus to that division as he takes on the new role of Peter Dawe, president of McCain’s global snacking business. In a LinkedIn announcement, Dawe said he has spent time with Mies over the last several months and pointed to Mies’ operational background and people-first leadership style. “His experience will bring a lot of value to McCain as we look to help our customers, grow our business and prepare for the future,” Dawe said.
Mies’ LinkedIn profile says his responsibilities at McCain are not limited to manufacturing. He will have global leadership responsibility for manufacturing, supply chain, engineering, environmental health & safety, quality, procurement and operations.
It’s the next step in a career closely linked to PepsiCo. Mies held a variety of leadership roles with the global food and beverage company around the world for nearly two decades. Most recently he was Senior Vise President, Supply Chain, Europe.
Mies announced on LinkedIn in August he is leaving PepsiCo.

Before Mies was hired, the company’s website shows that Attila Tamer was McCain Foods’ chief manufacturing and operations officer. Tamer left McCain in early 2025, his LinkedIn profile says.
McCain Foods is a Canadian company and one of the world’s largest producers of frozen potato products. The company also produces ready-made appetizers and snacks and has a large part of its business in the convenience channel.
Its product portfolio is geared to supporting grab-and-go offerings and made-to-order food programs and its operations and supply chain network are critical to serving customers in those segments.
