Reach Subsea has secured a long-term contract in the Black Sea after converting a previously announced letter of intent into a firm agreement covering inspection, maintenance and repair (IMR) as well as light construction services in the region.

The Oslo-listed subsea services company said the deal is initially set for two years, with an option to extend it by an additional year. It also establishes a strategic partnership with an undisclosed regional offshore services provider, which is supporting a major energy client operating in the area.

The scope of work includes ROV-based subsea operations, construction support activities, and wider field services offshore in the Black Sea. The region has seen increasing offshore activity in recent years, driven by efforts to develop energy resources and reinforce critical infrastructure.

Reach Subsea chief executive Jostein Alendal said the contract reflects the company’s growing ambitions in the region and highlights the relevance of its technology and asset base, which spans conventional and remote operations as well as subsea survey and monitoring capabilities.

He added that the agreement strengthens the company’s footprint across the Mediterranean and Black Sea area and expressed confidence in the collaboration with the chartering partner on the project.

The contracting partner will act as the local interface for the end client, providing regional expertise along with support in regulatory compliance and operational execution.

In parallel with the contract award, Reach Subsea has also finalised a vessel charter agreement with Solstad Maritime for the construction support vessel Normand Jarstein, which will be deployed for the campaign. The vessel is currently mobilising to the Black Sea ahead of the start of operations.
