OneReg, a regulatory compliance platform, has appointed Roger Gray as Chair to support the company’s global expansion, as it accelerates its growth. Gray is an aviation and infrastructure executive with over 20 years of international leadership experience.

Gray has a career in aviation, ports, logistics and fast moving consumer goods (FMCG). He is currently Chief Executive Officer of Port of Auckland and has had senior executive roles with Lyttelton Port Company and Air New Zealand.

His arrival is a milestone in the development of OneReg. The platform – which offers compliance and regulatory assurance solutions for airports and airlines – now has customers in New Zealand, Australia, the Middle East and the UK and is expanding into Europe.

To service this growing international customer base OneReg has stationed staff in key aviation hubs including Dubai, Geneva and the UK.

“The size of the opportunity and my confidence in the leadership team at OneReg were key drivers for me to join the business,” said Gray.

“Aviation is one of the most heavily regulated industries in the world and a lot of that regulation is still done through documents and email,” Gray said. That is a structural problem. It slows operators, uses regulator capacity and puts those responsible for safety away from the evidence they rely upon. This is where OneReg is uniquely positioned to help. “The team knows the regulatory challenge from the inside, has credibility with serious operators and is building for a market well beyond New Zealand.”

“Gray’s appointment is a reflection of our growing international ambitions and adds further experience as we scale the business,” says OneReg CEO and co-founder, Clinton Cardozo.

“To have someone with Roger’s depth of experience supporting OneReg and aviation compliance is a real vote of confidence in the direction of this company,” he said.

Cardozo also pointed to Gray’s extensive experience in leading safety-critical organizations and the scrutiny that goes with those roles.

Roger has spent much of his career leading safety critical organizations and understands the scrutiny that comes with that. “His experience will help us continue to scale with the same discipline and trust that got us here,” Cardozo said.

Support major airport deployments OneReg’s growth

Several major customer wins have strengthened OneReg’s international growth.

Dubai Airports has selected OneReg as its strategic partner for regulatory operations at Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) for 2025.

The deal was a major validation of the platform in one of the world’s largest and most complex aviation hubs.

OneReg is also used internationally at other major airports with 25 airports in Australia alone. Air New Zealand has also bought an equity stake in the company, further strengthening its position in the aviation sector.

But the company’s ambitions go beyond airports and airlines. OneReg also sees the potential to work with aviation regulators across the world as they move toward digital transformation.

The aim is to enhance the interaction between operators and regulatory authorities, thus enabling efficient regulatory processes and reinforcing the connection between compliance requirements, safety accountability and the evidence in support of the demonstration of compliance.

OneReg, which is already active in several international aviation markets and expanding in Europe, is looking to extend the global role of its regulatory technology platform.
