Menzies Aviation handled 2.4 million tonnes of cargo across 76 facilities in 2025, maintaining the same volume as in 2024, according to its latest Annual Review.
The UK-based aviation services provider noted that 2024 cargo volumes had increased 20% from 2 million tonnes in 2023, making the flat performance in 2025 a pause after a much stronger year of growth. The company did not comment in detail on the market conditions behind the slower momentum, although the wider air cargo market also expanded at a more moderate pace in 2025 than it did in 2024.
Beyond cargo, Menzies handled 330,000 freight forwarding shipments during the year and supported 5.3 million flights, up from 4.8 million a year earlier.
The group also continued to grow its international footprint through contract wins and strategic partnerships. In December, Menzies entered the Belgian market through a freighter ramp handling agreement with LATAM Cargo at Brussels Airport. Earlier in the year, Airport Service Budapest Zrt. transferred its ground handling and cargo activities at Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport to Menzies as part of a partnership arrangement.
In Iraq, the company expanded to Mosul International Airport through MASIL, its joint venture with Iraqi Airways, Air BP and Al-Burhan Group. In Australia, Menzies opened its third cargo warehouse at Sydney International Airport to support rising volumes of temperature-sensitive shipments and e-commerce cargo.
Acquisitions also played a role in the group’s cargo expansion. In September, Menzies acquired Spirit Cargo Handling, previously owned by SAS Ground Handling Norway, giving the company its first cargo warehouse and airfreight handling operation in Norway. A month earlier, it completed the $305 million acquisition of G2 Secure Staff, a deal that made Menzies the largest independent aviation services provider in the United States.
