Qatar Airways Cargo is strengthening its capabilities for the semiconductor industry by adding VRR’s specialised RGX and RZY containers to its TechLift portfolio.

The move expands the carrier’s ability to handle high-value and highly sensitive semiconductor manufacturing equipment, an area where transportation requires tight control and specialised protection.

The newly added equipment includes the RZY 16ft and RGX 20ft containers. Both are specifically designed to transport semiconductor fabrication machinery and other related capital equipment securely during air freight operations.

The containers are equipped with climate-control systems designed to maintain suitable conditions for sensitive equipment. They also feature enhanced shock-absorption technology, helping protect machinery from physical impacts and vibrations during transportation.

Both the RZY and RGX containers are certified for main-deck carriage aboard Qatar Airways Cargo’s Boeing 777 freighters. This gives the carrier the ability to provide specialised air cargo capacity for semiconductor equipment that cannot be handled using conventional transport solutions.

The addition is part of Qatar Airways Cargo’s TechLift product, which is designed to support the movement of high-tech and critical equipment requiring specialised logistics expertise.

The carrier is working with specialised logistics providers to improve the safety, reliability and efficiency of semiconductor supply chains. The initiative comes as demand for advanced manufacturing equipment continues to rise and manufacturers increasingly depend on secure international transportation.

Qatar Airways Cargo is broadening its capacity to provide dedicated solutions for the semiconductor industry by integrating VRR’s specialized containers into TechLift, and tackling the challenging handling demands of high-value manufacturing equipment.
