A new player has entered the airfreight network landscape with the launch of AERO Logistics Network, positioned as the first general-access, non-exclusive network dedicated exclusively to air cargo forwarders.
Designed to respond to rapidly shifting trade patterns, AERO aims to move beyond traditional directory-based models by focusing on verified partnerships and active business generation.
The network is built around three core pillars. First, member verification is handled through a third-party compliance system supported by AI, ensuring that participating companies meet strict operational and financial standards before being admitted.
Second, AERO uses a proprietary matching algorithm to connect members based on trade lanes, operational needs and business objectives. Rather than simply listing contacts, the system facilitates introductions designed to convert into real shipments.
Third, members gain access to collective buying power, including carrier incentive programmes, preferred agreements and competitive capacity solutions that would typically be out of reach for independent operators.
Network director Leo Barbaroussis said the objective is to create a platform that delivers not just connectivity, but measurable commercial value.
The network is currently in its founding phase, limited to 50 companies. Early members benefit from preferential pricing, advisory roles in shaping network governance and long-term recognition within the organisation.
AERO also plans to host its first annual conference on October 12, 2026, at the Castillo Hotel Son Vida in Mallorca, Spain.
Alongside its physical network, the organisation is developing a digital ecosystem that includes a real-time rate exchange platform, booking interfaces for shippers and forwarders, and training modules, including a dedicated programme for young professionals.
