    • Cargo Tonnage: 142,601 tonnes, up 15% compared to November 2023.
    • Cargo Revenue Tonne Kilometres (RFTKs): Grew by 11.9% year-on-year.

    • AFTKs and RFTKs grew by 8.9% and 4.8%, respectively.

Market Drivers

  1. Peak Season Demand:
    • Strong e-commerce activity from Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area fueled freight movement.
    • Perishables from the Americas and the Southwest Pacific, such as seafood and fresh produce, were in high demand.
  2. Machinery and Engines:
    • Significant shipments of machinery and engines, particularly from Japan, bolstered cargo volumes.
  3. E-commerce Sales Events:
    • Regional demand was further driven by major shopping festivals and promotional events.

Strategic Developments

  • Cathay Courier Campaign:
In November, Cathay Pacific launched a new marketing campaign for Cathay Courier, emphasizing its expertise in time-critical deliveries.
This initiative aims to strengthen its presence in the growing express cargo market.
  • Capacity Restoration:
The airline continues to restore capacity and expand its network to meet rising demand.

Looking Ahead

Cathay Pacific is optimistic about sustaining its strong performance into 2025, supported by:

  • Robust cargo demand, especially during the holiday season.
  • Strategic investments in service offerings and capacity enhancement.
  • A favorable market environment, with lower fuel costs and consistent demand.

Conclusion
Cathay Pacific’s 15% growth in November underscores its resilience and adaptability in the dynamic air cargo industry. With a focus on innovation and operational excellence, the airline is well-positioned to maintain its upward trajectory in global logistics.
