CIMC and Oman Investment Authority Forge Strategic Partnership to Boost Logistics and Green Industry
The agreement focuses on port infrastructure, multimodal transport, clean energy development and industrial localisation, reinforcing Oman’s ambitions to become a regional logistics hub.

CIMC Group and Oman Investment Authority (OIA) have signed the strategic cooperation agreement, opening a new chapter of cooperation between the two sides. The MoU is a move from discussions on project basis to a larger and more long-term partnership in line with Oman’s national industrial development strategy.
OIA is Oman’s sovereign wealth investment institution that invests in key industrial assets in a number of strategic sectors including energy, port logistics, mining and infrastructure. CIMC hopes to leverage its global presence, its expertise in manufacturing advanced equipment and its experience in delivering integrated solutions to the partnership in an effort to explore opportunities for collaboration in a number of sectors and along their respective value chains.
The joint programme will focus on port logistics, green energy and industrial localisation. The two partners intend to continue with port equipment deployment, rail infrastructure development and the strengthening of multimodal transport networks. They will also work together on facilities for the storage, transportation and bunkering of cleaner fuels such as natural gas, hydrogen, ammonia and methanol.
The partnership will bring together technical expertise, industrial investment and local capacity building. Through this, CIMC and OIA aim to improve Oman’s standing as a logistics hub in the region and support the country’s energy transition and broader economic diversification objectives.
The agreement marks a major step in CIMC’s long-term development in Oman. It is also expected to increase the group’s strategic presence in the Middle East and North Africa, creating more opportunities for regional growth and assisting in the global deployment of its industrial capabilities.
