Destinus has acquired Daedalean, a company based in Zurich. The startup develops artificial intelligence systems for flight navigation.

The deal was confirmed on Wednesday. No price was disclosed.

“This gives us the tools to automate faster,” said a Destinus representative.

Daedalean builds software for drones, aircraft, and pilot assistance.

Destinus plans to use the technology on its high-speed cargo platforms.

The goal is to fly routes without a pilot. Tests will begin in Europe later this year.

The acquisition also includes a team of 35 engineers.

Destinus is known for working on hydrogen-powered aircraft. The firm has raised funds from several European investors.

No date was given for commercial deployment.
