Frankfurt — DHL reported higher profit in the second quarter.
Operating profit reached €1.43 billion.
Revenue fell to €19.83 billion, down 3.9% from last year.
The company cut costs and adjusted capacity in weak markets.
Resources were shifted to trade lanes with better demand.
“We are keeping our focus on efficiency,” said CFO Melanie Kreis.
The express and supply chain units performed well.
The freight forwarding division saw lower results.
Full-year profit and cash flow targets remain unchanged.
Management said investments in automation and low-emission transport will continue.
Analysts say the figures show DHL can adapt quickly to market changes.
