In a strategic move to strengthen its position in Southeast Asia, ECS Group has announced that its subsidiary, Globe Air Cargo Cambodia, has been appointed as the General Sales and Services Agent (GSSA) for Air Premia in both Cambodia and Myanmar. This new partnership is set to enhance regional connectivity and open new corridors for exports and imports from two high-growth markets.
Enhanced Regional Air Cargo Access via Bangkok
Cargo shipments originating from Cambodia and Myanmar will now benefit from seamless routing via Bangkok (BKK), connecting to Air Premia’s major international destinations including Seoul (ICN), Tokyo Narita (NRT), and U.S. cities such as Los Angeles (LAX), San Francisco (SFO), and Newark (EWR). Air Premia’s Boeing 787s, operating from Bangkok, offer 15 to 18 tons of cargo capacity per flight.
To ensure reliable connectivity, the collaboration also includes interline arrangements that will feed cargo efficiently into the Bangkok gateway for global distribution.
Diversified Cargo and Market Potential
Cambodia is expected to export primarily ready-made garments and electronic components, while Myanmar will contribute textiles and agricultural goods. On the import side, Air Premia will facilitate the inbound transport of perishables such as mangoes — supporting regional trade in both directions.
“This partnership with Air Premia highlights our ability to deliver agile, market-specific solutions in rapidly growing regions,” stated Jean Ceccaldi, CEO of ECS Group. “Our team at Globe Air Cargo Cambodia is fully aligned with Air Premia’s goals, and we are confident in achieving strong commercial results across both markets.”
Digital Solutions for Operational Excellence
A key element of the partnership is ECS Group’s integrated digital ecosystem. Air Premia will leverage the CargoTech suite, featuring tools for dynamic pricing, booking optimization, data analytics, and real-time performance monitoring. These technologies are expected to improve visibility, streamline workflows, and enhance the overall customer experience.
Noor Azizah, Regional VP Asia Pacific (excluding China) at ECS Group, added: “Cambodia and Myanmar are high-potential, export-driven markets. Air Premia’s network gives local customers the long-haul reach they need. We’re excited to unlock new opportunities and further reinforce ECS Group’s footprint in Asia.”
Conclusion: A Strategic Boost for Southeast Asia Trade
The appointment of ECS Group as GSSA for Air Premia in Cambodia and Myanmar reflects the company’s commitment to growth in emerging markets. With this move, ECS Group continues its mission to provide flexible, reliable, and tech-enabled air cargo solutions for its global partners.
