Istanbul-based MNG Airlines has strengthened its cargo operations with the addition of a newly converted Airbus A330-300 passenger-to-freighter (P2F) aircraft, taking its fleet to a total of 12 dedicated freighters. The expansion highlights MNG’s ongoing commitment to growing its global logistics network and meeting increasing air freight demand.
Strengthening MNG’s Fleet and Global Reach
The A330-300P2F, registered TC-MCP, was leased from Stratos, an aircraft investment and asset management specialist. The conversion was performed by Elbe Flugzeugwerke (EFW) in Dresden, Germany, a renowned provider of passenger-to-freighter aircraft modifications.
MNG Airlines Chief Executive, Ali Sedat Özkazanç, expressed enthusiasm about the fleet expansion, stating:
“As MNG Airlines, we are very pleased to be partnering with Stratos. The addition of the new A330-300P2F to our fleet marks a major step toward expanding our global logistics network and delivering even more efficient solutions to our customers. We extend our sincere thanks to the Stratos team for their support and look forward to strengthening our partnership for years to come.”
A Growing Partnership with Stratos
This delivery marks MNG Airlines’ first aircraft transaction with Stratos, reflecting a deepening collaboration between the airline and the leasing specialist. Camille Pousseur, Marketing Director at Stratos, highlighted the significance of this partnership:
“We are delighted to have placed this A330-300P2F with a steadily growing carrier and we look forward to deepening this highly collaborative relationship. As a new customer of Stratos, the MNG team has been great to deal with, and we are proud to be a part of this airline’s continued expansion.”
MNG’s Expanding Freighter Fleet
The latest A330-300P2F joins MNG Airlines’ growing fleet, which now consists of:
- Four Airbus A330-300P2Fs
- Three Airbus A300-600P2Fs (one operating for DHL Aviation, one parked)
- Two A330-200Fs
- Two A321-200P2Fs
- One Airbus A300C4-600F
International Expansion and Future Plans
MNG Airlines operates a mix of scheduled cargo flights and charter services, connecting key international markets across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. The airline collaborates with other carriers to expand its reach and provide seamless air freight solutions for its clients.
While MNG continues to grow its fleet, it has also made strategic adjustments to its business model. In 2023, the airline halted its planned merger with private equity firm Golden Falcon Acquisition, which was intended to facilitate its listing on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). Despite this change in strategy, MNG remains focused on reinforcing its position as a leading cargo carrier in the region.
With the latest addition to its fleet, MNG Airlines is set to further enhance its cargo capacity, offering more efficient and flexible logistics solutions to its growing client base.
