In a move aimed at reinforcing its commitment to customer-centric growth, MSC Air Cargo has appointed seasoned logistics expert Nina Heinz as its new Service Delivery Director. Based in Paris, Heinz brings a wealth of experience in cold chain and temperature-sensitive logistics, marking her return to the airfreight sector after nearly a decade in adjacent industries.
A Strategic Addition at a Pivotal Time
Heinz’s appointment comes as MSC Air Cargo continues its steady expansion since launching in December 2022. With a focus on agility and operational excellence, the company has already carved a niche in long-haul routes, including its recently added weekly service between the Netherlands and Asia, operated by Atlas Air.
Heinz, who previously held senior roles at Maersk and served as Global Head of Network & Quality for DHL’s Temperature Management Solutions, also contributed to regulatory and operational advancements during her tenure with the Parenteral Drug Association (PDA).
Returning to Airfreight with a Purpose
In a LinkedIn post dated April 7, Heinz expressed enthusiasm for her new role: “After spending last week in Geneva with our dynamic team, I am settling into my new office and eager to return to my airfreight roots. In these recent times of global uncertainty in trade, air cargo has never been more relevant in providing agility, flexibility and resilience to supply chains.”
She added, “I look forward to driving customer centricity, innovation, and excellence in this exciting new journey ahead.”
Bolstering MSC’s Executive Ranks
The appointment follows another key leadership development last October, when Jannie Davel was named Chief Executive of MSC Air Cargo. Davel, formerly with Delta Cargo and DHL, has overseen the brand’s rapid growth in the face of volatile global supply chain demands.
Industry observers view Heinz’s return to air cargo as a strategic move, particularly given her expertise in quality assurance and compliance in highly regulated logistics environments.
Conclusion: A Signal of Intent
With the addition of Nina Heinz, MSC Air Cargo is signaling a clear intent to strengthen its service delivery operations and reinforce customer experience as a competitive differentiator. As air cargo continues to play a vital role in global supply chains, MSC’s leadership team appears well-positioned to guide the company through its next phase of growth.
