Japanese shipping group NYK has launched NYK Bulkship Partners (NBSP), a new entity designed to unify its dry bulk shipping operations under a single organisational structure.
The initiative brings together three companies—Asahi Shipping, Hachiuma Steamship, and Mitsubishi Ore Transport—along with their personnel, consolidating expertise across shipowning, ship management, and maritime transport services.
NBSP will focus on bulk cargoes including iron ore, coal, and wood chips, while offering integrated services both for in-house operations and third-party clients.
Koichi Uragami, President and CEO of NBSP, highlighted the strategic intent behind the move, stating that the consolidation will enhance the group’s ability to deliver safe, reliable, and value-driven maritime solutions.
By combining capabilities into a single structure, NYK aims to improve operational efficiency, strengthen service integration, and reinforce its position as a key player in the global dry bulk market.
