Malaysia Airlines’ cargo division, MASkargo, has officially resumed its cargo handling partnership with Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) in Paris, marking a renewed collaboration in tandem with the airline’s return to Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG) Airport after a nearly decade-long absence.
The airline relaunched daily Airbus A350-900 passenger services between Paris and Kuala Lumpur this month, expanding its global route network to 68 destinations. The partnership with WFS will facilitate the handling of cargo for these daily flights and support growing trade flows between France and Southeast Asia.
Reviving a Trusted Partnership
WFS previously managed cargo for Malaysia Airlines at Paris CDG before the carrier suspended its Paris route in January 2016. With the resumption of services, the partnership has not only been reinstated at CDG but also expanded to include support at other key French regional airports—Lille, Lyon, Marseille, Nantes, and Strasbourg—strengthening MASkargo’s domestic footprint across France.

Enhancing Connectivity Between Europe and Asia
The restored daily connection between Paris and Kuala Lumpur comes at a time of rising demand for resilient air cargo capacity linking Europe with Asia-Pacific. MASkargo’s relaunch of services through CDG positions it to tap into this demand, providing efficient connections to its Southeast Asian and broader Asia-Pacific network.
With three Airbus A330-200 freighters—each capable of carrying up to 61 tonnes—MASkargo complements bellyhold cargo operations on Malaysia Airlines’ passenger fleet. The airline is also leveraging its regional strength to facilitate the flow of electronics, perishables, pharmaceuticals, and other high-value goods moving between the EU and Asia.
Global Synergy Through WFS Network
Beyond Paris, WFS already handles Malaysia Airlines cargo at international hubs such as Copenhagen, Bengaluru, and Bangkok, offering a seamless and standardized service experience across major markets. WFS operates over 150 customer partnerships through nine cargo terminal facilities at CDG alone, providing Malaysia Airlines with a proven platform to grow its volumes in France.
The renewed agreement also signals MASkargo’s broader ambition to re-establish its presence in key European markets. By partnering with a globally integrated handler like WFS, the airline is reinforcing its reliability, agility, and alignment with European cargo standards—key components in the post-pandemic freight landscape.
As Malaysia Airlines returns to Paris and extends its European footprint, its cargo division is strategically positioning itself to support increasing bilateral trade and serve as a critical airfreight link for manufacturers, forwarders, and shippers alike.
