Tashkent, Aug. 13, 2025 — The Uzbek cargo airline My Freighter has begun operating a new scheduled service linking Shanghai with Amsterdam, using Tashkent as a central stopover. The route, launched this week, marks the company’s first regular connection between China and Western Europe.

Flights are currently running twice a week with Boeing 767-300 freighters, offering a total transit time of around seventeen hours from departure in Shanghai to arrival in the Dutch capital. For shippers moving high-value or time-critical goods, the service presents an alternative to busy gateways such as Dubai or Istanbul.

Executives at My Freighter say the move reflects rising demand from Chinese exporters who are diversifying away from U.S. markets amid trade tensions. “This corridor gives our clients more certainty, both in schedule and capacity,” one senior manager explained. “It positions Tashkent as a serious contender in the Eurasian cargo network.”

Plans are already in place to expand the service to daily flights by the end of the year. New destinations under review include Hong Kong, Seoul, and Frankfurt, allowing the carrier to build a denser web of routes across Asia and Europe. Priority cargo on the new route ranges from automotive components and industrial machinery to electronics, semiconductors, and e-commerce parcels.

My Freighter’s current fleet includes eight Boeing 767 freighters and a single Boeing 757 freighter. Over the next two years, the airline intends to add more 767s and bring in larger aircraft such as Airbus A330s and Boeing 747s, with a long-term target of operating more than thirty aircraft by 2027.
