United to introduce non-stop flights to Morocco, the Philippines, and Colombia

United recently announced a significant expansion of its global network by introducing new non-stop flights connecting New York/Newark with Marrakech, Morocco; Tokyo/Narita with Cebu, Philippines; and Houston with Medellin, Colombia. In addition to these new routes, United will increase the frequency of flights to popular global destinations, including Hong Kong, Seoul in South Korea, and Porto in Portugal. The airline also plans to add four weekly flights between Los Angeles and Shanghai, following a recent bilateral agreement aimed at increasing the number of flights between China and the United States.

With these additions, United strengthens its position as the leader among American carriers in terms of the diversity and scope of its international network, now offering non-stop service to 134 international destinations in 67 countries. United also stands out for serving more destinations across the Atlantic and Pacific than all other American carriers combined.

United is noted not only for serving the most sought-after international destinations but also for its ability to introduce customers to lesser-known, often unique locations, offering flights to nine exclusive destinations in the continental U.S., such as Palma de Mallorca, Spain; Christchurch, New Zealand; and Dubrovnik, Croatia, among others.

Patrick Quayle, Senior Vice President of International Network Planning and Alliances at United, emphasizes the company’s commitment to offering a unique range of travel options: “We’ve consistently been ahead of the curve in uncovering exceptional destinations for our customers. Our goal remains to offer the most original choice of travel experiences for their overseas adventures. With our leading global network and superior flight experience, United has become the carrier of choice for discerning travelers seeking unique experiences.”

New York/Newark-Marrakech, Morocco

Starting next winter, United will offer the highest number of flights to the most destinations in Africa from the New York metropolitan area. It will also be the only carrier to provide a direct connection between the U.S. and Marrakech, with a tri-weekly service starting October 24, using Boeing 767-300ER aircraft equipped with 46 United Polaris® class seats and 22 United Premium Plus® seats.

Tokyo/Narita-Cebu, Philippines

United is boosting its presence in the Philippines with a new annual non-stop service from Tokyo-Narita starting July 31. United will be the only American carrier to serve Cebu, with daily flights operated by Boeing 737-800, offering convenient connections from United’s flights departing from San Francisco, Los Angeles, Denver, Newark-New York, and Houston to Tokyo-Narita.

Houston-Medellin, Colombia

For the first time, United will launch a daily non-stop flight to Medellin, Colombia, from Houston, using Boeing 737 aircraft starting October 27. This new route expands United’s presence in Colombia, complementing existing services from Houston and Newark to Bogota and bringing the total number of destinations served in Latin America from Houston to 52.

United’s 2024 International Program

In addition to these new routes, United will increase its flights to other global destinations throughout the year, continuing to develop its mainland China program and adding extra frequencies to Hong Kong, Seoul, among other service enhancements, reaffirming its commitment to offering global connectivity and enriched travel options to its customers.
