7Air has appointed Juan Nunez as accountable executive and chief operating officer, marking a significant leadership step for the airline just one year after it received FAA certification.
Nunez had served as director of flight operations at 7Air since October 2023. Before joining the company, he held the position of director of operations at the FAA.
In his expanded role, Nunez will oversee the airline’s day-to-day operational efficiency and performance, while also carrying overall responsibility for ensuring full compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements. As accountable executive, he will act as the primary point of accountability with the FAA, ensuring that the airline has the resources, processes and oversight necessary to maintain high standards of safety and regulatory compliance.
The company said Nunez brings extensive leadership experience and a strong operational background, qualities it believes will support 7Air’s continued development and long-term success.
The appointment comes shortly after the airline completed its inaugural flight to Hewanorra International Airport in St. Lucia earlier this week. Operated in partnership with West Tech Shipping, the route is designed to strengthen logistics links between Miami and the Eastern Caribbean, serving demand tied to retail, e-commerce, agriculture, manufacturing and distribution.
The service will begin with one weekly flight, with plans to increase frequency to twice a week depending on market demand.
