Aviator Airport Alliance has secured a new multi-year ground handling agreement with China Southern Airlines at Helsinki Airport, opening a significant new partnership as the Chinese carrier launches service to Finland.
China Southern operated its inaugural Beijing Daxing-Helsinki flight on 29 March. Under the agreement, Aviator is providing a full suite of services from the first day of operation, including passenger handling, ramp work, baggage services and de-icing.
The deal links Aviator with one of the world’s largest airlines. China Southern, founded in 1988, operates nearly 900 aircraft, serves more than 200 destinations and runs more than 2,000 flights a day, making it a major force in both regional and long-haul aviation.
Minna Virmajoki, interim managing director of Aviator in Finland, said the company was looking forward to supporting China Southern’s presence in Helsinki and ensuring a smooth and reliable experience for both passengers and aircraft on the ground. She said the agreement reinforced Aviator’s role in delivering high-quality handling services at Helsinki while reflecting a shared focus on safety, efficiency and customer service.
Aviator is active at 15 airports across the Nordic region and handles flights for carriers including Norwegian, Lufthansa Group, Ryanair, Wizz Air, Finnair, Air France-KLM and Turkish Airlines. The company is part of Avia Solutions Group, which describes itself as the world’s largest ACMI provider and employs more than 14,000 aviation professionals across six continents.
