BCUBE Group has signed a purchase agreement for Alha Group in a move that could reshape the Italian airport cargo handling landscape and create one of the country’s largest integrated airfreight logistics platforms.
BCUBE, an international provider of integrated logistics services, said the acquisition is intended to strengthen its industrial scale and enhance its ability to invest, while also expanding higher-value logistics services.
Once completed, the transaction is expected to create a major cargo handling operator capable of competing more effectively with leading European players and reinforcing the position of Italian airports within global logistics networks.
The company said development plans at Rome Fiumicino, Milan Malpensa, Milan Linate and Venice Tessera will be central to that strategy. These locations are expected to play a key role in attracting new carriers, lifting cargo throughput and consolidating the competitive standing of Italy’s airport system in Europe.
BCUBE said combining the two businesses would accelerate investment, improve industrial resilience and support the development of strategic infrastructure for the broader national logistics sector. Planned spending will focus on both physical infrastructure and technology, including new warehouses, specialised cargo centres, advanced digitalisation, automation systems, energy efficiency measures and sustainability-driven upgrades.
The enlarged operator will offer services across the full logistics value chain, both on-airport and off-airport, with the goal of creating a more integrated, scalable and efficient ecosystem for freight forwarders and global logistics operators.
The plan includes the integration of airport platforms at Fiumicino, Malpensa/Linate and Venice, alongside regional facilities in Truccazzano and Prato. It also предусматриes the development of integrated air, sea and road freight services, as well as specialised logistics solutions for sectors such as pharmaceuticals, perishables, e-commerce, dangerous goods and valuables.
Completion of the transaction remains subject to a number of conditions, which BCUBE expects to be satisfied in the coming months.
