ECUADOR — Talma Ecuador has secured the BASC Security Certification (Business Alliance for Secure Commerce) for the third consecutive year at its operations in Quito and Guayaquil, reinforcing its focus on security, risk management and the protection of international logistics flows.
The certification was awarded by the World BASC Organization (WBO) and recognises the continued application of security and control practices across Talma Ecuador’s operations.
The company, part of Grupo Sandoval, provides airport services across Latin America. In Ecuador, the certification covers activities linked to aircraft and passenger services, as well as the monitoring and control of airport operations.
Strengthening security across airport operations
The BASC programme is designed to help companies identify and mitigate risks while protecting the security and integrity of international supply chains.
During the latest assessment, auditors highlighted two initiatives developed by Talma Ecuador: DELTA and ReconoSer.
DELTA is an internal technology solution that uses robotic process automation (RPA) to improve the verification of information associated with new employees. By automating parts of the validation process, the system helps standardise checks, improve traceability and reduce manual intervention.
ReconoSer, meanwhile, is an employee recognition programme focused on behaviours that reflect Talma’s corporate values. The initiative allows the company to identify and reinforce good practices among its workforce.
Focus on continuous improvement
Delia Guerra, Country Manager of Talma Ecuador, said the third consecutive certification demonstrates the company’s ability to maintain BASC standards while continuing to improve its management processes.
She also highlighted the initiatives identified during the audit as examples of how Talma is incorporating technology and new operational practices to anticipate risks and respond to the changing requirements of the airport environment.
The renewed certification strengthens Talma Ecuador’s approach to risk prevention, operational control and continuous improvement.
With its Quito and Guayaquil stations continuing to operate under internationally aligned security practices, Talma aims to maintain reliable airport services while supporting the integrity and security of the wider air cargo and logistics chain.
