SupportZebra acquisition to fuel expansion of LSG’s BPO operations Lean Solutions Group (LSG) is expanding its business process outsourcing operations with the acquisition of SupportZebra, a deal that will take its workforce in the Philippines beyond 2,000 employees and bolster its presence in several industries outside transportation and logistics.
The Miami-based company announced the acquisition on Aug. 24, describing it as an expansion of its service model across automotive, fintech, e-commerce, software and health care. SupportZebra adds customer support and back office capabilities to LSG’s existing technology platform, as well as an established workforce and customer base, to the group.
Founded in 2011, SupportZebra has more than 1,300 employees in the Philippines and Mexico and more than 40 clients. It provides outsourced customer experience and business support services such as customer service, technical support and back-office functions. Its employees operate as an extension of clients’ internal teams, rather than as a separate outside provider, taking over customer interactions and other day-to-day tasks companies would have to staff themselves.
The acquisition will add to LSG’s Philippine workforce, which will exceed 2,000 employees across three markets, Metro Manila, Cagayan de Oro and Cebu. LSG said its workforce in the Philippines has more than doubled in the past two years to more than 12 times, reflecting the company’s view of increasing demand for outsourced business and technology services in the country.
SupportZebra was established in 2011 and is located in Cagayan de Oro. Originally called FBC Solutions, the company started out as a 15-seat call center and has grown both its workforce and services.
Zebra started out as an outsourced customer support provider, before expanding its services to technical support, virtual assistance and other business process services. Its customer base now includes e-commerce, software, fintech, health care, insurance and other industries – sectors that fit with LSG’s strategy of building growth opportunities outside of logistics.
The company has highlighted particularly rapid growth in automotive and fintech.
“Transportation and logistics is still Lean Solutions Group’s core market but the company is seeing rapid growth with particular acceleration in the automotive and fintech markets,” LSG said in a press release dated Aug. 24.
LSG’s automotive expansion also includes a partnership with Carparts.com Philippines, which was integrated in the past six months and extended by a new multiyear services agreement.
SupportZebra is well positioned to help LSG replicate and expand this model to other industries by leveraging its proven service teams with LSG’s technology infrastructure and global footprint.
“Combining SupportZebra’s expert service teams with our global footprint and AI, we are extending our expert-in-the-loop model to new markets and verticals that few companies in the world can serve at this scale,” said LSG CEO Jack Freker.
The deal also bolsters LSG’s technology-driven strategy, especially its increasing use of artificial intelligence.
SupportZebra’s services are designed to work with the systems and communication channels its customers already use. The company has also brought automation and AI into some of its support functions.
Meanwhile, AI is being leveraged to take on repetitive and time-consuming customer-support tasks, enabling employees to focus on more complex issues. It has AI tools for routing tickets, suggesting responses to agents, surfacing customer information, and assisting with routine processes.
SupportZebra has also looked at agentic AI, which it describes as an evolution of traditional chatbot technology. These systems can decide and accomplish tasks with less direct human involvement.
Unlike basic chatbots that just follow scripts, agentic artificial intelligence is able to understand requests, make decisions and complete tasks with little human help, said SupportZebra.
That is part of LSG’s more general AI approach. Throughout 2026, the company has been working on its artificial intelligence (AI) platform, LeanTek, which seeks to unite automation with human know-how.
LSG refers to this model as “expert in the loop.” Instead of replacing human workers with software, this approach is about humans managing and supervising AI-based workflows.
The purchase will make LeanTek AgentEdge, which uses AI-powered automation to supplement human support teams, available to SupportZebra customers. They will also have access to LeanTek Connect, a visibility platform into workforce management and account performance.
“By combining the workforce intelligence and governance capabilities of LeanTek Connect with the workflow execution and performance visibility of LeanTek AgentEdge, we can offer a single view of AI and human operations that can enable smarter decision-making and increased accountability,” LSG said in a July 15 press release.
This year LSG has continued to build out LeanTek’s capabilities with tools around workforce intelligence, AI governance, cost visibility and workflow automation.
With the acquisition of SupportZebra, LSG is getting an established way to enter other industries than transportation and logistics, outside the technology component. Instead of starting new operations and customer relationships from scratch, the company gains access to SupportZebra’s existing client base in software, fintech, health care, insurance and other sectors.
The relationships also could open the door for LSG to expand its service offerings as SupportZebra is integrated into its bigger tech platform.
The transaction further strengthens LSG’s operational presence in the Philippines, where the company has grown rapidly over the last two years. SupportZebra gives LSG hundreds of employees and an established operation in Cagayan de Oro to complement its existing sites in Metro Manila and Cebu.
That bigger footprint gives LSG more capacity to take on outsourced operations as it looks to serve customers wanting a blend of human expertise and AI-powered tools.
“This acquisition also significantly increases the company’s footprint in the Philippines, a top global center for technology and English-speaking talent, where SupportZebra has been the market leader for over 10 years,” LSG said in its Aug. 24 announcement of the acquisition.
For LSG, it’s increasingly about the combination of technology and the workforce needed to deploy and manage it. SupportZebra provides the company scale, a strong customer base and a larger footprint in the Philippines as it attempts to scale the model beyond transportation and logistics.
“This acquisition is consistent with our strategy of broadening our vertical expertise while embedding our LeanTek technology platform throughout the capabilities we acquire through innovative, partnership-driven acquisition growth,” LSG said in its Aug. 24 acquisition announcement.
The acquisition simultaneously furthers two aspects of the growth of LSG, by expanding the scale of its outsourcing business, and by creating new opportunities to deploy LeanTek outside the transportation and logistics markets.
Why it’s important:
This deal is another example of how companies are increasingly pairing artificial intelligence with outsourced talent to expand their services while keeping the cost and complexity of scaling operations in check.
SupportZebra adds a larger pool of talent and new customers that can be plugged into LSG’s technology ecosystem for Lean Solutions Group. At the same time, the deal gives a tangible path for the company to diversify away from its traditional logistics market.
