CMA CGM AIR CARGO, the air freight division of the CMA CGM Group and part of the company’s global air, land and sea logistics offering, has joined the BARIG Air Cargo Community as a new member.
The international airline association Board of Airline Representatives in Germany (BARIG) has welcomed the airline as its latest globally connected member, further expanding the organisation’s network within the air cargo sector.
Founded in 2021, CMA CGM AIR CARGO is now part of the CMA CGM Group, which provides integrated logistics solutions across air, land and sea.
“The further development of air cargo is one of BARIG’s key tasks. In 2025, German airports recorded air cargo volume of approximately 4.86 million metric tons, representing a 1.6 percent increase compared to 2024. However, the air cargo industry in Germany is suffering significantly from state-imposed location costs, high fees, and administrative challenges,” said Michael Hoppe, Chairman and Executive Director of BARIG.
Hoppe added that BARIG is working closely with other associations to improve the framework conditions for air cargo in Germany.
“We are working closely together with other associations to also improve the framework conditions for air cargo. We are delighted to have CMA CGM AIR CARGO, a new BARIG member with a global presence on board to join our efforts.”
CMA CGM AIR CARGO is headquartered at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport, where the carrier has three Boeing 777F aircraft and one Airbus A330-200F stationed. The airline also operates two additional Boeing 777F aircraft based in the United States.
Beyond its Paris hub, CMA CGM AIR CARGO connects Germany and the Benelux region with destinations across Asia and America, adding further international reach to its growing air cargo network.
