By Eva Richardson – The Logistic News

February 26, 2025 – ANA Holdings Inc. has announced an order for 15 Embraer E190-E2 aircraft, with options for an additional five units, as part of its fleet renewal strategy. The highly efficient, next-generation aircraft will bolster nationwide connectivity and operational performance for Japan’s leading airline. Deliveries are set to begin in 2028.

Strategic Expansion for Efficiency and Sustainability

The selection of the E190-E2 aligns with ANA’s commitment to enhancing fuel efficiency and optimizing fleet composition. Martyn Holmes, Chief Commercial Officer of Embraer Commercial Aviation, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership:

“We are honored that Embraer’s E190-E2 small narrowbody aircraft will join ANA’s fleet and we look forward to the delivery of the first aircraft in 2028. The E190-E2 is the quietest and most fuel-efficient aircraft available, perfectly complementing ANA’s fleet of larger narrowbodies.”

Sustainability at the Core of the E190-E2

Building on two decades of operational excellence from the first-generation E-Jets, the E190-E2 introduces:

  • 25% lower carbon emissions and fuel burn compared to previous E-Jets.
  • Advanced aerodynamics and cutting-edge wing design for superior operating performance.
  • Capability to operate with up to 50% sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), with demonstrated 100% SAF operability.

Embraer continues to support the aviation industry’s goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable aviation solutions.

A Milestone for Embraer’s E-Jet Program

Embraer’s E-Jet program remains one of the most successful commercial aircraft series in the industry, with:

  • More than 1,800 units delivered worldwide.
  • Over 80 airlines operating E-Jets across 50 countries.

ANA’s order further strengthens Embraer’s presence in the Asia-Pacific aviation market, highlighting the E190-E2’s growing reputation for fuel efficiency and operational flexibility.

Looking Ahead

With deliveries commencing in 2028, ANA’s acquisition of the E190-E2 signifies a commitment to modernizing its fleet, reducing emissions, and optimizing connectivity. The move reinforces ANA’s vision for a more sustainable and efficient future in Japanese aviation.
