China’s export volumes increased by 7.2% from January to June 2025.
Most of the increase came from shipments to Africa, Southeast Asia, and Latin America.
Europe and the United States did not show the same growth.
“We followed the demand. It moved elsewhere,” said a Chinese exporter based in Ningbo.
Goods shipped include electrical cables, tools, low-cost machinery, and textiles.
Ports in southern China reported more containers going to smaller markets.
The Ministry of Commerce said new routes helped maintain volume.
Officials mentioned trade deals signed last year with partners in Asia and Africa.
There was no change in the country’s annual export forecast.
The trend may continue if tariffs and tensions remain high in Western markets.
