COSCO Shipping Lines is set to revolutionize its Trans-Atlantic operations with an upgraded service network, launching in February 2025. The enhancements introduce a four-loop service connecting Northern Europe and North America, designed to offer improved reliability, expanded port coverage, and streamlined transit times.

New and Enhanced Service Loops

  1. Atlantic North East Coast Service (TAE):
Ports of call include Southampton, Antwerp, Rotterdam, Bremerhaven, Le Havre, New York, Norfolk, and Baltimore.
This loop offers faster connections to major U.S. East Coast ports.
  2. Atlantic South East Coast Service (TAX):
Covering Le Havre, Rotterdam, Antwerp, Bremerhaven, Charleston, and Savannah, this service strengthens ties to the Southeastern U.S.
  3. Atlantic Mexico/Gulf Coast Service (EAG):
Linking Southampton, Rotterdam, Antwerp, Bremerhaven, Veracruz, Altamira, Houston, and New Orleans, this service caters to growing trade with Mexico and the U.S. Gulf Coast.
  4. Atlantic West Coast Service (ELSA):
A new all-water service connecting North Europe to the U.S. West Coast via the Panama Canal.
Key ports include Southampton, Le Havre, Rotterdam, Hamburg, Antwerp, Miami, Cartagena, Rodman, Los Angeles, and Oakland.

Key Benefits

  • Expanded Connectivity: Serving 66 major ports across the Trans-Atlantic trade route.
  • Reliability: Enhanced scheduling to meet shippers’ growing demands.
  • Efficiency: Optimized transit times and expanded options for importers and exporters.

Strategic Significance

This upgraded network highlights COSCO Shipping’s commitment to providing world-class services to its customers. The inclusion of an all-water route through the Panama Canal showcases its innovative approach to meeting the evolving needs of global trade.

Launch Timeline

Subject to regulatory approvals, the new services will commence operations in February 2025, solidifying COSCO’s position as a leader in Trans-Atlantic logistics.
