DHL Express names Sandeep Juneja as India Managing Director and South Asia Senior Vice President
The leadership change, effective November 1, 2026, places an experienced DHL executive at the helm of its India and South Asia operations, with a mandate to accelerate regional growth, strengthen customer relationships and expand international business opportunities.

DHL Express has appointed Sandeep Juneja as Senior Vice President, South Asia and Managing Director, India, with effect from 1 November 2026. He takes over from R. S. Subramanian, who is moving to Blue Dart as Managing Director.
Juneja’s appointment comes at a critical time for the company’s regional operations, with South Asia continuing to provide significant opportunities for international trade and business expansion. In his new role he will be responsible for strengthening customer relations, identifying new growth opportunities and promoting the long-term sustainable development of DHL Express in the region.
Juneja has more than 30 years of professional experience, including over 20 years at DHL Express, which has given her an in-depth knowledge of the company’s operations and commercial environment. He was hired by DHL in 2004 and joined the India Management Board in 2007. Since then he has held a number of senior leadership roles in sales, marketing and commercial operations.
His role was further expanded in 2013 when he took the reins of the commercial function of DHL Express India. This position allowed him to have a lot of exposure to the domestic market, its commercial dynamics and the main factors that drive business growth.
He also played a key role in shaping the commercial strategy of the company and strengthening its presence in the Indian market. Over the years he has been involved in customer development, strategic pricing, digitalisation and identifying new business opportunities with a strong focus on profitability and customer value.
South Asia is a major growth opportunity
The appointment comes amid positive trade forecasts for the wider region. Between 2026 and 2029 South and Central Asia is expected to be the second-fastest growing trade region in the world after the Middle East and North Africa, according to the DHL Globalisation Tracker.
This momentum is also likely to be helped by the growing web of trade agreements in India. Agreements with the European Union, the United Kingdom, EFTA, New Zealand and Oman can help businesses diversify their trading partnerships, strengthen supply chain resilience and build new building blocks for long-term growth.
In this context, DHL Express will use its global network, trade expertise and service capabilities to help companies take advantage of the emerging cross-border opportunities.
“India and South Asia are strategically important markets for us and among the most dynamic markets in the region,” said Ken Lee, CEO of DHL Express Asia Pacific.
“To unlock their potential requires deep market knowledge, strong customer relationships and an organisation able to convert business ambitions into sustainable results,” he said. He also expressed confidence that Juneja would build on the existing foundations and take the company through the next phase of growth.
A regional mandate across 6 markets
Apart from his responsibilities in India, Juneja will be in charge of DHL Express operations in Nepal, Bhutan, Maldives, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. His appointment therefore expands his leadership role to several strategically important South Asian markets.
India and Bangladesh are high growth markets for DHL Group, bringing more opportunities for companies looking to grow their international presence.
“It is a privilege to be at the helm of a business I have been associated with for more than two decades,” Sandeep Juneja said on his new responsibilities. He said he saw the opportunities that existed across India and Bangladesh and stressed his intention to build on the strong foundation laid by his predecessor R S Subramanian.
His priorities will be customers, employees, sustainable business development and the delivery of consistently high service standards.
Under his leadership, DHL Express will concentrate on deepening customer relationships, developing talent and ensuring operational reliability and service quality that customers expect, as well as enhancing its ability to capitalise on the growing opportunities in South Asia.
