DP World has expanded its contract logistics operations in Thailand with the opening of a new 10,000 sq metre distribution centre in Bang Na, Bangkok.
The facility is designed to strengthen the company’s logistics capacity in the country and will operate around the clock, providing storage and distribution services for high-value and time-sensitive cargo. Its target sectors include consumer electronics, semiconductors and automotive products.
Located in Greater Bangkok, the new warehouse is strategically connected to Laem Chabang Port as well as manufacturing centres across Thailand’s Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC). The location is intended to support the movement of goods between major production areas, port infrastructure and domestic distribution networks.
The investment further expands DP World’s presence in Thailand, where the company combines port operations with inland transport and wider supply chain services.
The new distribution centre also adds to a series of investments by DP World in the country. Earlier this year, the company secured a five-year extension to its concession for the B5 container berth at Laem Chabang Port, extending the agreement through April 2031.
DP World has also been investing in electrification and inland connectivity as part of the development of its Thai operations.
Jeanie Tan, chief commercial officer, logistics, Asia Pacific at DP World, said the Bang Na facility would provide customers with additional capacity while linking them to the group’s broader freight and logistics network.
“By bringing these services together, we help customers reduce complexity, respond more quickly to changing demand and keep goods moving reliably within Thailand and across the Asia Pacific region,” she said.
The Bangkok opening is part of a wider expansion of DP World’s contract logistics activities across Southeast Asia.
The group has recently invested in additional facilities in Singapore and Johor, Malaysia. Further sites in Kuala Lumpur and the Philippines are also scheduled to open later this year.
Through these developments, DP World is continuing to build an integrated logistics network that combines warehousing, inland connectivity, port operations and supply chain services across the region.
