Emirates SkyCargo introduces specialist AI Tech service to meet surging demand for AI infrastructure transport
The new logistics solution combines priority loading, specialised cargo handling and real-time shipment oversight as Emirates reports transporting more than 700 tonnes of AI infrastructure in July alone.

Emirates SkyCargo is solidifying its position as a leader in the rapidly expanding artificial intelligence logistics sector with the introduction of AI Tech, a specialized transportation service to support the growing global movement of critical AI infrastructure.
The new offering is designed to help customers safely move sensitive, high-value technology equipment within tight delivery windows. With investment in artificial intelligence accelerating globally, the need for specialized logistics solutions that can support large-scale infrastructure deployments is also accelerating.
The scale of this demand can already be seen in the airline’s operations. Emirates SkyCargo alone carried over 700 tons of AI infrastructure across its global network in July, with volumes still on the rise.
A Tailored Solution for Critical Technology Shipments
AI Tech has been designed to serve a wide array of equipment that is critical to AI infrastructure, including server racks, semiconductors, graphics processing units (GPUs), capital equipment and other essential hardware.
The service incorporates priority loading, dedicated handling procedures and proactive shipment monitoring from Emirates SkyCargo’s command center in Dubai. The aim is to have oversight of shipments throughout the journey and enable customers to meet ever tighter infrastructure deployment deadlines.
As computing and processing systems become more complex, the need for reliable transportation is becoming more pronounced. The rapid uptake of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies has made the movement of specialized equipment more complicated, especially when shipments involve high-value cargo, tight delivery schedules and special handling requirements.

Expanding freighter capacity to accommodate heavier equipment
Emirates SkyCargo is also getting ready to expand its dedicated cargo capacity. By March 2027, the airline plans to have 23 dedicated freighters in operation, which should give it more main-deck capacity to carry oversized and especially heavy cargo.
This ability will be particularly valuable for tall and dense AI server racks that can often weigh over 3.5 tons, and require suitable loading and transportation arrangements.
In addition to freighter services, the airline is also providing cargo capacity on its wide-body passenger jets, thus broadening the transport options on its international network.
Badr Abbas, Divisional Senior Vise President, Emirates SkyCargo said, “The physical infrastructure that supports the development of artificial intelligence is critical.
“Every AI breakthrough has the physical infrastructure behind it that needs to get here safely and on time. AI Tech is built to give customers confidence that their essential equipment will move seamlessly across our network, with operational oversight and proactive communication. “As this sector grows, our ambition is to be the carrier of choice for companies operating across the AI ecosystem,” he stated.
Standardised handling and enhanced shipment visibility
According to the Dubai-based carrier, AI Tech is built around a dedicated set of operational procedures designed to protect sensitive equipment and improve shipment reliability across its network.
Its main features include:
Specialised handling procedures: Globally standardised processes designed to maintain equipment orientation and minimise the risk of damage during transportation.
Priority loading and scheduling: Preferential treatment for shipments supporting time-critical infrastructure deployments.
Airport to Airport Visibility: Shipment tracking with milestone updates monitored through Emirates SkyCargo’s command center in Dubai.
Proactive Customer Coordination: Continuous communication with customers throughout the transportation process.
Specialist project cargo support – we offer dedicated support for oversized and heavy shipments that require additional logistics expertise.
These measures are intended to provide customers with greater control over complex shipments while reducing the risks associated with transporting valuable technology equipment across international markets.
Emirates SkyCargo said its experience in handling technology products and high-value cargo worldwide provides a foundation for the new service.
"Drawing on extensive experience transporting technology and high-value cargo worldwide, AI Tech underlines Emirates SkyCargo's commitment to serving the rapidly evolving needs of the AI sector with a logistics solution built around speed, reliability, visibility and specialised handling," the airline stated.
With AI infrastructure investments continuing to expand globally, Emirates SkyCargo is positioning AI Tech as a specialised logistics offering for companies seeking dependable transportation of the hardware underpinning the next generation of artificial intelligence.
