JD Logistics, the supply chain arm of China’s e-commerce giant JD.com, has significantly bolstered its presence in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region by operating five strategically located warehouses. This expansion underscores the company’s commitment to enhancing logistics services and supply chain efficiency across key MENA markets.
Strategic Warehouse Network
The current network includes:
-
Saudi Arabia Warehouse No. 1: Serving as a pivotal hub for distribution within Saudi Arabia and neighboring countries.
-
Two Warehouses in Dubai, UAE: The first, established in 2020 at Jebel Ali Port—the region’s largest free zone—marked JD Logistics’ initial foray into the Middle East. The second facility in Dubai further amplifies the company’s capacity to manage and distribute goods efficiently across Asia, Africa, and Europe.
These facilities are designed to provide integrated supply chain solutions for both Chinese brands expanding globally and local enterprises seeking advanced logistics support.
Collaborative Ventures and Technological Integration
In a notable collaboration, JD Logistics partnered with Saudi Electricity Company to automate and upgrade numerous warehouses. This initiative aims to enhance end-to-end supply chain efficiency and reduce operational costs throughout the MENA region.
Furthermore, in 2025, JD Logistics joined forces with Chinese automaker Chery to establish one of the largest automotive parts centers in the Middle East. Leveraging its expertise in advanced warehousing and logistics technology, JD Logistics managed the planning and design of this regional hub, offering comprehensive supply chain services. These services encompass container receiving, customs clearance, warehousing, quality inspection, storage, order processing, packaging, and outbound shipping. This center significantly enhances parts logistics efficiency, serving markets across the Middle East and North Africa.
Community Engagement Initiatives
Beyond its commercial endeavors, JD Logistics actively engages in community initiatives to foster cultural integration and support local traditions. From March 29 to March 30, the company distributed over 1,000 gifts, including traditional Chinese presents, to residents at locations such as Tahliah Street and Panorama Mall. This Eid al-Fitr campaign exemplifies JD Logistics’ dedication to connecting with local communities and contributing positively to the regions it operates in.
Future Outlook
JD Logistics’ expansion in the MENA region aligns with its broader strategy to double its overseas warehouse space by the end of 2025. This ambitious plan reflects the company’s commitment to meeting the growing demand for cross-border logistics solutions and enhancing its global supply chain capabilities.
As JD Logistics continues to integrate advanced technologies and foster strategic partnerships, it is well-positioned to play a pivotal role in transforming the logistics landscape across the Middle East and North Africa.
