King Ocean Services, owned by the Da Costa Gomez family, has successfully acquired Seacor Island Lines, Seacor Holdings’ Caribbean liner and logistics business. This strategic acquisition expands King Ocean’s footprint in the Caribbean, providing marine transportation and logistics solutions to nearly 50 destinations across the Caribbean, South, and Central America.
Jose Da Costa Gomez, President, and CEO of King Ocean, highlighted the significant benefits of the acquisition, stating, “Seacor Island Lines not only significantly enhances our existing platform by adding new end-markets and marine and shoreside infrastructure but also brings on board highly qualified transportation and logistics professionals.”
This sale is part of Seacor Holdings’ recent divestment strategy, following the sale of its US harbor towage operations and assets in September to E.N. Bisso & Son and Bay-Houston Towing Co. Additionally, in October, Seacor sold its inland river transportation and logistics business to Ingram Barge Company. The transactions reflect Seacor’s focus on reshaping its portfolio.
