Kuehne+Nagel Targets MedTech Growth with Specialized Road Logistics in Europe

Logistics giant Kuehne+Nagel is revving its engines to capture a larger share of the growing MedTech industry in Europe. The company recently announced the launch of specialized road logistics services specifically designed to cater to this sector.

This move comes in response to the booming MedTech market, fueled by advancements in technologies that address the needs of aging populations and rising chronic diseases. Kuehne+Nagel recognizes a gap in the current logistics landscape – a need for services that don’t require the stringent Good Practice (GxP) regulations but still prioritize the safe and secure transportation of high-value medical and diagnostic devices.

The new offering, aptly named “MedTech” and “MedTech+,” caters to road freight within Europe. Key features include:

  • Specialized Handling: Products are transported with meticulous care throughout Kuehne+Nagel’s reliable network.
  • MedTech Expertise: Dedicated competence centers staffed by trained experts provide centralized customer service and proactively manage any unforeseen issues.
  • Tailored Service Options: Depending on the chosen tier (MedTech or MedTech+), customers can benefit from additional services like regular consignment inspections, end-to-end shipment visibility, and even white-glove deliveries that include device installation and removal of packaging materials.

“A unique aspect is that this service is also available for groupage shipments, alongside Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) and Full-Truckload (FTL) options,” said Joerg Woyke, Global Head of Road Logistics Healthcare at Kuehne+Nagel. “We guarantee quality through focused investments in safety procedures, skilled personnel, and specially equipped facilities,” he emphasized, highlighting the company’s commitment to exceeding the standard for non-GxP regulated medical devices.

This launch aligns with Kuehne+Nagel’s Roadmap 2026, which identifies the healthcare sector as a strategic growth area. By offering specialized solutions that address the specific needs of the MedTech industry, Kuehne+Nagel is well-positioned to become a preferred logistics partner for this critical and ever-evolving market.
