Spanish logistics company Planway Logística has announced the integration of 22 Fuso eCanter electric trucks into its fleet. This move represents a significant step toward sustainable urban logistics, supporting environmentally friendly last-mile delivery operations in collaboration with Correos, the national postal service of Spain.

Key Features of the Fuso eCanter Fleet

The Fuso eCanter, a fully electric light-duty truck, offers cutting-edge performance and sustainability benefits:

  • Gross Vehicle Weight: 8.55 tonnes
  • Battery Capacity: 123.9 kWh (Three modules of 41.3 kWh)
  • Range: Up to 200 kilometers per charge
  • Payload: Supports up to 15 euro-pallets, ideal for urban logistics
  • Power Output: 129 kW

Manufactured in Tramagal, Portugal, these trucks offer regional accessibility while reducing production-related emissions.

Enhancing Urban Logistics Sustainability

Planway Logística’s decision to deploy the Fuso eCanter trucks aligns with the growing demand for greener supply chain solutions in urban areas. These electric trucks will significantly reduce CO₂ emissions, noise pollution, and operating costs for last-mile deliveries, particularly in cities where stricter emission regulations are being implemented.

Strategic Collaboration with Correos

The trucks will operate as part of the logistics network for Correos, supporting their efforts to modernize and decarbonize delivery operations. This collaboration highlights a shared commitment to adopting zero-emission vehicles for more sustainable urban freight movements.

Industry Impact and Leadership Perspective

Florian Schulz, Head of Sales, Marketing & Customer Services at FUSO Europe, emphasized the importance of this deployment:
“The decision by Planway Logística to adopt 22 Next Generation Fuso eCanter trucks demonstrates their dedication to sustainable urban logistics. It also reaffirms the eCanter’s position as a versatile and reliable solution for inner-city distribution.”

Why It Matters

  • Environmental Benefits: A significant reduction in carbon emissions, contributing to cleaner air and quieter cities.
  • Operational Efficiency: A 200 km range per charge ensures reliable deliveries with fewer charging interruptions.
  • Growing Market Trend: Companies across Europe are increasingly adopting electric vehicles (EVs) to meet environmental regulations and customer demand for greener solutions.

Looking Ahead

With this initiative, Planway Logística is setting a new standard for eco-friendly logistics in Spain. The deployment of the Fuso eCanter fleet is expected to encourage more logistics providers to invest in electric mobility and reduce their environmental footprint.
