Menzies Aviation has achieved a new milestone in its global operations, reporting an unprecedented $2.6 billion in revenue for 2024—a 20% year-on-year increase. This marks the fourth consecutive year of double-digit growth for the global aviation services provider and reinforces its position as a leading force in the ground handling and cargo logistics sector.
With operations now spanning 300 airports across 65 countries, Menzies Aviation’s momentum is the result of calculated strategic expansion, investment in automation, and a strengthened commitment to sustainability.
A Year of Expansion and Resilience
The company’s 2024 Annual Review & Sustainability Report paints a portrait of an organization thriving in an increasingly competitive market. Menzies handled more than 4.8 million flights and served 250 million passengers over the past year—both significant jumps from 2023 figures. Notably, its cargo operations processed 2.4 million tonnes, up from 2 million the year prior.
“This year has been transformational,” said Hassan El-Houry, Executive Chairman of Menzies Aviation. “We have expanded our reach, invested in our people and equipment, and continued to show that sustainability and growth can go hand-in-hand.”
New contracts in markets such as Hong Kong, Portugal, Angola, and Malaysia were complemented by strong performance in established hubs like Serbia and Spain.
Commitment to Sustainability
Menzies Aviation continues to set benchmarks in ESG performance. In 2024, it became the first major aviation service provider to have its net-zero targets validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). It also surpassed 22% global deployment of electric ground support equipment and made strides toward its goal of 25% by 2025.
The company reduced voluntary staff turnover for the second year in a row and met its target of having 25% of senior leadership roles held by women—supporting IATA’s 25by2025 initiative.
Philipp Joeinig, Group CEO, commented, “Since 2021, we have increased our airport network by 41% and expanded into 71% more countries. This growth reflects our ambition to serve more partners with consistent quality while operating responsibly.”
Investing in the Future
Beyond physical expansion, Menzies invested heavily in training, new technologies, and infrastructure improvements. Its record EBITDA of $382 million underlines operational strength and a stable foundation for further innovation. A portion of the revenue was also dedicated to community projects and local charities, reflecting the company’s role as a responsible corporate citizen.
As global air traffic continues to rebound and supply chain dynamics evolve, Menzies’ performance positions it well to adapt and lead. With demand for cargo services growing and aviation facing a critical moment in climate accountability, the company’s balanced approach offers a glimpse into what the future of logistics excellence could look like.
