Singapore Airlines selects Menzies Aviation to handle its operations at Western Sydney International Airport
The agreement covers cargo, ramp and passenger handling services ahead of Singapore Airlines’ operational launch on 23 November 2026, strengthening Menzies Aviation’s presence at Australia’s newest international airport.

Menzies Aviation has been appointed to handle cargo, undertake ramp operations and provide passenger services at Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport (WSI), a key milestone in the development of the new airport’s aviation and logistics operations.
The partnership will be effective upon the launch of Singapore Airlines’ operations at the airport on November 23, 2026. Menzies will support the airline's daily passenger flights and ad hoc freighter operations, meeting the requirements of both passenger and cargo traffic at the new 24-hour facility.
The deal also marks a significant milestone for Menzies Aviation’s growth in Western Sydney. The company has set up a 12,500-square-metre cargo facility in the airport’s dedicated cargo precinct with an annual handling capacity of up to 200,000 tons. The infrastructure is now Menzies’ largest cargo warehouse in Oceania and Southeast Asia.
The facility is designed to cater for a wide array of freight needs, including pharmaceuticals, perishables, e-commerce and heavy cargo. Its capabilities are designed to meet the growing needs of international air freight and to provide airlines with additional capacity as activity grows at WSI.
Growing partnership between Singapore Airlines and Menzies
The appointment comes on the back of an existing working relationship between the two companies. Menzies already offers freighter ramp services to Singapore Airlines in Sydney and Melbourne. Earlier in 2026, the ground handling specialist also won contracts for Singapore Airlines’ operations in Brisbane and Cairns.
Menzies said this appointment as Singapore Airlines’ first airline service provider at Western Sydney International Airport is a further step forward in its regional growth strategy.
“We are proud to have been appointed by Singapore Airlines, our first airline customer at Western Sydney International Airport. This demonstrates our ability to deliver world-class passenger, ramp and cargo services and builds on our long-standing partnership with the airline. “Our new airside cargo facility and integrated service offering will enable airline growth, reinforce supply chains and help position the airport as a key aviation and cargo gateway for Australia,” said Darren Masters, Executive Vise President Oceania, Southeast Asia & China, Menzies Aviation.
Singapore Airlines is also collaborating with Menzies to prepare for operations commencement and to ensure ground services meet the airline’s operational and customer service needs.
“Singapore Airlines is working closely with Menzies to prepare for the launch of operations at WSI from 23 November 2026, to ensure we are ready to provide the high-quality passenger, ramp and cargo handling services our customers expect from us,” said Foo Chai Woo, Regional Vise President South West Pacific, Singapore Airlines.
Digital cargo handling to aid airport operations
Menzies will also deploy its next generation cargo management platform, MACH, at Western Sydney International Airport, in addition to its physical infrastructure and ground handling capabilities.
The technology is intended to improve operational efficiency and give customers greater visibility into the shipment process. One of its features is real-time tracking of cargo, which allows customers to track shipments better and makes coordination within handling operations smoother.
Menzies Aviation is increasing its footprint in Australia’s air cargo market with the addition of Singapore Airlines to its customer roster at WSI. “The combination of a large-scale cargo facility, integrated ground handling services and digital shipment management capabilities are expected to help position Western Sydney International Airport as a major aviation and freight gateway.
