World Star Aviation has delivered a Boeing 737-400SF to UAE-based Sky One, marking the third aircraft the lessor has placed with the carrier as it continues to expand its cargo and aviation services network.
The aircraft is a converted special freighter, a format widely used for short- and medium-haul cargo operations. According to World Star Aviation, the latest addition reinforces its support for Sky One as the airline grows both regionally and internationally.
In a statement, the lessor said the delivery reflects the continuation of an established partnership and underlines its role in backing Sky One’s fleet development strategy.
World Star identified the aircraft by manufacturer serial number 25110. Airfleets data indicates the aircraft first flew in 1994 and was most recently operated by ASL Airlines Belgium.
The 737-400 freighter remains a practical platform for operators serving shorter sectors, offering a payload of around 20 tonnes and a range of approximately 3,700 km.
Publicly available fleet information suggests that Sky One may also operate two 757-200 passenger-to-freighter aircraft, although confirmation was still being sought from both the airline and the lessor.
Based at Sharjah International Airport, Sky One positions itself as an aviation solutions provider specialising in aircraft charters and wet-lease services. Its fleet includes cargo aircraft, passenger aircraft and helicopters.
The delivery follows another recent World Star transaction in the cargo market. In December, the lessor handed over a 737-800 Boeing Converted Freighter to West Atlantic UK to support the operator’s air cargo activities in the UK and Europe.
