In a landmark advancement for digital transformation in logistics, Trustd has officially become the first digital identity platform in the transport and logistics sector to be certified under the UK’s Digital Identity and Attributes Trust Framework (DIATF). The achievement not only sets a new precedent for digital compliance across the industry but also signals a broader shift toward standardized, secure identity verification in complex supply chain ecosystems.

The certification, issued by the UK government, affirms that Trustd meets the highest standards for security, data integrity, and operational transparency in identity authentication—an area historically fraught with manual processes, inefficiencies, and regulatory exposure.

A New Gold Standard for Digital Trust in Logistics

Designed to reduce risk and increase accountability across freight networks, Trustd provides digital identities for both individuals and businesses. The platform enables logistics operators to perform critical checks—such as ‘right to work’ compliance, driver verification, and business credential validation—via a centralized and secure interface.

“For an industry built on movement and transactions, identity verification has long been a blind spot,” said Lyall Cresswell, CEO and founder of Trustd. “This certification confirms that we’re not just solving a pain point—we’re redefining what trust looks like in modern logistics.”

The platform is currently used by over 10,000 logistics operators across the UK, including freight brokers, hauliers, warehouse providers, and fleet managers.

Biometric Technology Meets Supply Chain Security

One of Trustd’s most transformative features is Secure Collect, a patented system that uses biometric identity verification and location-based tracking to validate freight collection points. It ensures that only pre-approved, authenticated parties can access cargo, reducing the risk of fraud, theft, or procedural errors during pickup and delivery.

Through its partnership with Transport Exchange Group, Trustd is also issuing certified digital business identities to further secure end-to-end logistics workflows—from shipper onboarding to subcontractor vetting and carrier compliance.

Replacing Paperwork with Compliance Automation

Traditionally, logistics companies have relied on time-consuming and error-prone manual checks to verify suppliers, contractors, and drivers. Trustd replaces this system with real-time digital profiles that include critical documents like driver’s licenses, insurance certificates, business registrations, and safety credentials—all verified by logistics professionals.

These profiles are continuously updated and auditable, allowing logistics companies to maintain full compliance with evolving legal and contractual requirements without administrative overhead.

Implications for a Sector Under Pressure

The timing of Trustd’s certification is notable, as the logistics industry faces increasing pressure to digitize, decarbonize, and de-risk its operations. Rising security threats, ESG disclosure requirements, and tightening labor regulations have made identity verification more than a formality—it is now a pillar of operational resilience.

With the UK government positioning DIATF certification as a national standard, Trustd’s lead in this space may serve as a blueprint for digital identity integration across continental Europe and beyond.

Why It Matters:
As logistics becomes more automated, global, and compliance-driven, the need for secure digital trust layers is becoming essential. With its UK certification, Trustd has not only validated its technology—it has validated a new era of identity as infrastructure for the transport and logistics industry.
