Dubai, July 22 — In a bid to position central India as a gateway to global trade, the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Mohan Yadav, met with logistics leaders in Dubai to discuss a major export corridor linking inland India to the Middle East via the upcoming Bharat Mart complex.

“We are ready to move fast. Our goal is to connect Indian producers directly with buyers across the Gulf and beyond,” Yadav said after meetings with executives from DP World and the Jebel Ali Free Zone Authority.

Building a corridor from inland to coast

At the heart of the proposal is a dedicated freight corridor, including a new rail terminal at Ujjain-Nagda and a dry port facility designed to channel containerized goods efficiently from central India to Dubai. The plan would reduce transit times and lower logistics costs for key sectors such as textiles, agriculture, and handicrafts.

“This is not just about infrastructure—it’s about market access,” Yadav added. “With Bharat Mart in Dubai and strong multimodal links in India, we can offer exporters faster, smarter routes.”

India’s export ambitions go global

The Bharat Mart complex, scheduled to open in 2026, will include over 1,500 showrooms and modern warehousing space designed for Indian SMEs to showcase goods for buyers across the Middle East, Africa, and Europe.

DP World officials expressed interest in aligning with India’s infrastructure vision, noting the strategic value of integrating the UAE and Indian supply chains more closely.

“We see strong potential in linking our logistics ecosystem with India’s inland industrial centers,” one DP World executive said privately.

Next stop: Europe

Following his visit to Dubai, Yadav is set to travel to Spain to meet with European logistics investors, underlining his administration’s broader goal: turning Madhya Pradesh into a hub for global distribution.

“We are laying the tracks—literally and diplomatically—for Indian exports to go further than ever,” Yadav concluded.
