Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Group has expanded its business portfolio by moving into the ship repair and conversion segment through the creation of a new subsidiary in Jiangsu province.
The company has invested in Jiangsu Yangzi Hongda Ship Repair & Conversion Co., Ltd., a green high-tech project officially established in the Tongzhou Bay Demonstration Zone in Nantong.
Wholly owned by Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Group and launched with registered capital of $100 million, the new company will serve as a key base for green high-tech ship repair, retrofitting and vessel delivery. It will focus on the repair, conversion and delivery of a full range of green and technologically advanced vessels.
Yangzijiang said the move is consistent with its core strategy of reinforcing its shipbuilding business while also advancing broader marine development. The group noted that the investment aligns with the global shift toward greener and more intelligent shipping solutions and supports long-term, high-quality and sustainable growth.
With the launch of this new subsidiary, Yangzijiang Shipbuilding now operates five shipyards across its network. Its four existing shipyards are Jiangsu New Yangzijiang Shipbuilding, Jiangsu Yangzi Xinfu Shipbuilding, Jiangsu Yangzi Mitsui Shipbuilding and Jiangsu Yangzi Hongyuan Shipbuilding.
The group also holds an equity investment in Tsuneishi Group (Zhoushan) Shipbuilding.
