Saudia Cargo and Tibah Airports Operation Company have signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at giving a stronger push to air cargo operations at Prince Mohammed Bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah, as Saudi Arabia continues to expand its aviation and logistics footprint.
The agreement was signed during the 20th Steering Committee Meeting for the Activation of the National Aviation Sector Strategy, and is focused on making cargo operations at the airport more efficient, better connected and more competitive.
In practical terms, the partnership brings together Saudia Cargo’s global freight network and Tibah’s role as airport operator, with the aim of using Madinah’s geographic position to unlock new supply chain opportunities and support trade growth in the region.
A large part of the cooperation will revolve around logistics development projects, regular workshops and ongoing discussions with relevant government and regulatory bodies. The idea is to create a more coordinated ecosystem, where information, expertise and operational know-how can circulate more easily between stakeholders.
Both sides are also planning structured knowledge-sharing initiatives, with workshops and joint sessions designed to improve day-to day operations and strengthen overall service quality. Customer experience is also part of the focus, with efforts to refine processes and introduce more efficient logistics solutions tailored to the region.
On the commercial side, Saudia Cargo will introduce special shipping rates aimed at encouraging exports and increasing air cargo volumes out of Madinah. In parallel, Tibah Airports Operation Company will roll out incentive programs to support Saudia Cargo’s activity at the airport.
Beyond operational gains, the partnership is also clearly tied to a broader ambition: positioning Madinah as a stronger logistics and aviation hub, while contributing to Saudi Arabia’s wider economic diversification and improving the country’s global connectivity.
