The California Highway Patrol (CHP) has recovered more than US$2.2 million worth of suspected stolen cargo after executing a search warrant at a warehouse in Anaheim, California.
The operation was carried out on 18 June by investigators from the CHP’s Border Division Cargo Theft Interdiction Program and Organized Retail Crime Task Force. The agency announced the recovery several days later, confirming that the investigation is still ongoing.
According to CHP, the warehouse contained merchandise linked to multiple cargo theft cases. Among the recovered items were around 22,000 boxes of TaylorMade golf balls, Meta server switches, Tamiya hobby products, and 29 pallets of Horizon Hobby merchandise.
Photos released by the agency showed large quantities of goods stacked inside the warehouse following the search.
In a statement, CHP said it remains committed to tackling cargo theft and organised retail crime, adding that specialised investigators continue to target criminal networks affecting businesses across California.
So far, authorities have not announced any arrests or identified any suspects. They have also not revealed how investigators traced the stolen cargo to the warehouse or where the shipments originally came from.
CHP has not confirmed whether the recovered goods have been returned to their owners, and no further details about possible criminal charges have been released. The agency said the investigation remains active and that more information could be provided as the case develops.
