The proposed complex would be built next to the city-owned Britannia Rink in Vancouver’s east end.
If approved, the project would provide the Canucks with their first permanent training facility. Although the team plays its home games at Rogers Arena, it is one of the few NHL clubs that does not currently operate a dedicated practice centre.
Beyond serving the professional team, the proposed development is expected to include new community amenities and expanded youth hockey programming, creating additional recreational opportunities for local residents.
No cost estimate or funding plan has been released, and both the City of Vancouver and the Canucks said further details will be developed during the next stages of planning.
The proposal remains subject to additional negotiations, public consultation and final approval by Vancouver City Council before construction can move forward.
