Airbus has unveiled the first test aircraft for its A350F freighter programme, revealing the new-generation cargo aircraft in a distinctive “Flying Parcel” livery at the company’s final assembly site in Toulouse.
Designed to look like a giant delivery package, the aircraft features shipping labels running along its fuselage. The main cargo door and lower cargo access panels also carry the message “open here for business”, reinforcing the aircraft’s role as a dedicated freighter.
The rollout represents an important milestone ahead of the A350F’s upcoming flight-test campaign. Airbus is continuing to target the aircraft’s maiden flight before the end of 2026.
According to Reuters, the first flight is tentatively expected in late September, although the schedule could still change depending on technical developments and weather conditions.
The A350F is being developed as Airbus’ next-generation widebody freighter, combining the A350 platform with a large main-deck cargo door and a design aimed at improving efficiency in long-haul freight operations.
With the first test aircraft now carrying its final visual identity, Airbus is moving closer to the start of flight testing and the next phase of development for its new freighter programme.
