FIATA has signed a three-year partnership agreement with WCAworld, making the global network of independent freight forwarders its newest Platinum Partner, the highest level within FIATA’s Partnership Programme.

The agreement brings together two major organisations representing the international freight forwarding sector, with a shared focus on strengthening the industry through collaboration, professional development, digitalisation and high operational standards.

WCAworld connects independent logistics companies across 197 territories, giving the partnership a broad international reach at a time when freight forwarders are facing increasingly complex supply chains, regulatory requirements and technological changes.

Stronger cooperation across the freight forwarding industry

Under the agreement, WCAworld will have increased engagement with FIATA’s initiatives, events and industry programmes throughout the initial three-year partnership.

The collaboration will focus on areas including professional training, digital transformation, industry standards and advocacy, while supporting freight forwarders as they adapt to changing international trade conditions.

FIATA Director General Dr Stéphane Graber welcomed the agreement, highlighting the organisations’ existing cooperation and their shared objective of supporting efficient, resilient and sustainable supply chains.

The partnership is also expected to strengthen FIATA’s engagement with freight forwarding companies and expand opportunities for collaboration across the wider logistics community.

A milestone for WCAworld

For WCAworld, becoming a Platinum Partner represents a significant step in its relationship with FIATA, particularly during FIATA’s centenary year.

WCAworld Chair David Yokeum said the agreement would give the network’s members closer access to FIATA’s industry expertise and leadership.

The organisation intends to work with FIATA to promote higher industry standards, support the professional development of freight forwarding professionals and contribute to the continued efficiency of global trade.

Supporting a changing logistics landscape

The partnership comes as freight forwarders navigate a rapidly changing operating environment shaped by supply chain disruptions, digitalisation, regulatory developments and growing demands for more sustainable logistics.

By combining FIATA’s role in industry advocacy and standards with WCAworld’s extensive network of independent logistics companies, the two organisations aim to increase cooperation and provide greater support to freight forwarders worldwide.

The three-year agreement paves the way for further collaboration and emphasizes the necessity of international partnerships to guaranty the efficiency, security and resilience of global supply chains.
