Effective immediately, Felix Toepsch has taken on the role of Vice President of Cargo Development at Fraport AG, where he will be responsible for further developing the cargo business at Frankfurt Airport and identifying new opportunities for growth.
Fraport AG Chief Operating Officer Dietmar Focke welcomed the appointment, highlighting Toepsch’s long-standing experience at Frankfurt Airport and his extensive network across the cargo sector.
“With Felix Toepsch, we’ve secured an experienced colleague who has years of experience at Frankfurt Airport and has built a wide network within the cargo community,” Focke said.
In his new position, Toepsch will draw on his background in business development, digitization and process optimization to support the continued development of Frankfurt Airport (FRA) and pursue further growth opportunities within its cargo business.
Toepsch holds a degree in business administration and has been part of Fraport AG since 2013. During his career with the company, he has held a variety of positions, with his work focusing particularly on business and process development as well as innovation projects.
Since January 2023, Toepsch has also served as Executive Director of Air Cargo Community Frankfurt e.V. The role has involved close cooperation with companies and institutions throughout the entire air freight process chain, while representing the interests of more than 115 companies that form the Air Cargo Community Frankfurt.
During his tenure, Toepsch has supported the continued development of FRA as a leading European air freight hub. He has contributed to the growth of the Air Cargo Community Frankfurt and played a role in introducing process and standardisation measures designed to improve air freight operations at the airport.
Among the initiatives associated with this work are the introduction of a common-use truck slot booking system and the implementation of community-wide standards for cargo procedures.
Beyond his responsibilities at Fraport and within the Air Cargo Community Frankfurt, Toepsch has also been active in industry associations at both German and European level.
His appointment as Vice President of Cargo Development now places this experience at the centre of Fraport AG’s efforts to further strengthen Frankfurt Airport’s cargo business and develop new opportunities for growth.
