Emirates SkyCargo is expanding its dedicated freighter presence in India, adding new weekly services to Bengaluru, Chennai and Hyderabad. With these additional connections, the carrier’s total number of weekly freighter flights in the country has reached seven.
The new freighter services complement Emirates’ extensive passenger network, which currently provides 167 weekly flights from India. Together, the two networks offer exporters direct access to major international trade routes through the airline’s global network.
India continues to represent a strategically important market for Emirates SkyCargo. During the 2025/26 financial year, the carrier transported more than 153,000 tonnes of exports from the country. The shipments covered a broad range of products, including pharmaceuticals, perishables, high-tech electronics, engineering and automotive components, as well as fashion goods.
Pharmaceutical and food shipments remain particularly significant within the carrier’s Indian operations. Emirates SkyCargo currently moves more than 650 tonnes of pharmaceuticals and more than 600 tonnes of fresh food and other perishables from India every week via Dubai.
The importance of India’s perishable exports was also highlighted during the mango season. Between April and June 2026, Emirates SkyCargo transported close to 2,900 tonnes of Indian mangoes to customers around the world.
Badr Abbas, Divisional Senior Vice President of Emirates SkyCargo, described India as a strategic market for the carrier. He said Emirates SkyCargo is supporting Indian exporters by connecting them with international markets and enabling access to global supply chains.
Trade between India and the UAE is another important part of the operation. During FY 2025/26, Emirates SkyCargo transported more than 28,000 tonnes of Indian exports to the UAE, representing a 24% increase compared with the previous year.
Beyond its airport gateways in India, the carrier’s logistics footprint is also extensive. Emirates SkyCargo also operates road feeder services connecting destinations in different Indian states to its air cargo network.
The trucking network has carried more than 4,500 tons of import and export cargo over the last 12 months, adding a road-based layer to Emirates SkyCargo’s growing air freight connectivity across the country.
