LX Pantos, based in South Korea, was founded in 1977 and has expanded steadily from a Korea-focused logistics provider to a global operator offering freight forwarding, contract logistics, e-commerce fulfillment, last-mile delivery and installation, and supply chain management consulting.
The company now has over 380 locations around the world and employs some 8,500 people. It handles more than 1.6 million TEUs of ocean freight and more than 120,000 tons of air freight per year. LX Pantos posted revenue of about $5.85 billion in 2025.
But for President and CEO Lee Yong-ho, those numbers are not the zenith of the company’s development, but a stepping stone for further growth.
“Since taking on the role of CEO, I have expressed a clear vision for LX Pantos – to develop the company into a ‘Korea-born, global logistics company’ – and we have been pursuing that goal with a constant dedication,” said Lee.
This ambition represents a major change from the business model that has driven the growth of LX Pantos for many years, with the company relying heavily on freight volumes from domestic corporate clients.
“LX Pantos has been growing fast for many years, using freight volumes from corporate customers in the home market. “But we also realized that growth driven primarily by the domestic market has its limitations,” Lee said. It is time for LX Pantos to be a truly global logistics company, not limited to any one country or customer segment, and able to offer comprehensive logistics solutions to customers around the world.
Turning global disruption into an opportunity
According to Lee, the transformation is already producing tangible commercial results. LX Pantos has placed considerable emphasis on changing its internal organizational mindset while maintaining disciplined execution. That effort is now translating into business wins with multinational corporations across China, Asia and Europe.
“We have placed strong emphasis on organizational mindset transformation and disciplined execution. As a result, we are now achieving meaningful commercial wins with global MNC customers across China, Asia, and Europe,” Lee said.
The broader supply chain environment is also creating an opening for the company. Geopolitical tensions, shifting trade patterns and continued changes in global supply chains have introduced unprecedented volatility across the logistics sector.
Rather than viewing those disruptions solely as a threat, Lee sees them as an opportunity to speed up LX Pantos’ transformation.
“Today, the supply chain environment is facing unprecedented volatility due to geopolitical risks and ongoing changes in the trade landscape,” Lee said. “While many view this as a time of crisis, we see it as a significant opportunity to accelerate LX Pantos’ transformation into a leading global logistics company.”
Building one integrated logistics system
LX Pantos’ operations are organized around four principal business areas. They include freight forwarding across ocean, air and rail; contract logistics covering warehousing and inland transportation; e-commerce fulfillment; and last-mile delivery and installation.
The company’s strategy, however, is not to treat those activities as isolated services.
“These businesses do not operate independently. Rather, they are seamlessly integrated into a single value chain through digital solutions and a coordinated sales structure,” Lee said.
For customers, the objective is to combine transportation, storage, delivery and tracking into one end-to-end logistics system. Lee believes this integrated approach is central to the company’s competitive positioning.
“In other words, LX Pantos’ competitiveness lies not simply in providing individual logistics services, but in integrating transportation, storage, delivery, and tracking into a single end-to-end system that delivers a seamless supply chain experience for customers,” he said.
The physical network supporting that model has also been built with expansion in mind. LX Pantos has consistently moved into promising markets early, aiming to establish capabilities before demand fully develops.
“Whenever we identify a promising logistics opportunity, we have consistently pursued proactive and early expansion into regions across the globe,” Lee said. “This global network, combined with LX Pantos’ integrated logistics capabilities, has provided a strong foundation for delivering differentiated services.”
In a highly competitive logistics market where providers frequently offer comparable transportation services, Lee argues that LX Pantos’ differentiation increasingly comes from its ability to work alongside customers on their broader supply chain strategies.
“Beyond transportation, LX Pantos plays the role of a strategic partner that works alongside customers to design and optimize their supply chains,” Lee said. “We believe that when these strengths are scaled across our global operations, LX Pantos is fully capable of competing at the highest level in the global market.”
Resilience becomes a central customer priority
That positioning is particularly evident in contract logistics, where customer expectations have changed considerably since the COVID-19 pandemic.
Before the pandemic, cost reduction and operational efficiency were often the primary factors companies considered when selecting logistics providers. The combination of pandemic-related disruptions and heightened geopolitical uncertainty has shifted that equation.
Customers are now placing substantially greater importance on resilience — specifically, a logistics provider’s ability to react flexibly to disruptions while maintaining stable operations when supply chain challenges emerge.
“While logistics cost reduction and operational efficiency were once the primary criteria in selecting logistics partners, customers have since the COVID-19 pandemic and heightened geopolitical uncertainty increasingly placed greater emphasis on resilience as a core competitive advantage of logistics providers — namely, the ability to respond flexibly to disruptions and maintain stable operations even when supply chain challenges arise,” Lee said.
The U.S. becomes a strategic growth engine
That changing environment is particularly important in the United States. LX Pantos acquired a large-scale logistics center in Georgia last year as part of a broader effort to develop regional hubs across the Eastern, Western and Southern parts of the country.
Lee sees the U.S. as a critical component of the company’s global strategy because of its importance as the world’s largest consumer market and as a major focal point in the restructuring of international supply chains.
“The United States, as the world’s largest consumer market and a pivotal hub in the ongoing restructuring of global supply chains, has emerged as an increasingly critical market in terms of customer proximity and supply chain resilience, driven by the rapid advancement of reshoring and manufacturing realignment,” Lee said.
LX Pantos is also expanding its inland capabilities through strategic partnerships. Through Boxlinks, its joint venture with ONE, the company is strengthening inland transportation and empty-container repositioning capabilities.
At the same time, cooperation with the Virginia Port Authority is designed to improve cargo-flow stability and operational efficiency along the U.S. East Coast.
“Through partnerships such as Boxlinks, its joint venture with ONE, LX Pantos is strengthening its inland transportation and empty container repositioning capabilities, while its collaboration with the Virginia Port Authority is enhancing cargo flow stability and operational efficiency across the U.S. East Coast,” Lee said.
Beyond the United States, Lee identified Southeast Asia, India and Eastern Europe as regions offering substantial long-term growth potential as manufacturers continue to relocate production.
The company expects these markets to evolve beyond their traditional role as transit locations.
“We believe these regions hold significant long-term growth potential, as they are evolving beyond mere transit points into integrated hubs where global customers are establishing production, procurement, and distribution networks,” Lee said.
Installation expands the logistics offering
One of LX Pantos’ more distinctive growth areas is installation services.
The company developed much of this expertise in South Korea through its long-standing partnership with LG Electronics. It is now seeking to transfer that experience to international markets, with the United States at the forefront.
LX Pantos currently operates 36 locations across the U.S., providing a foundation for expanding installation and related logistics services nationwide.
“With 36 operational locations already established across the country, the company has built an infrastructure capable of covering the entire U.S. market and is now accelerating its business expansion on this foundation. LX Pantos aims to bring the high-quality capabilities developed in Korea to the U.S. market,” Lee said.
Changing consumer behavior is helping drive that opportunity. Online purchases of furniture and electronics, subscription-based purchasing models and the expansion of DIY markets are increasing demand for professional delivery and installation services.
“As online sales of electronics and furniture, as well as subscription-based purchasing models, become increasingly mainstream, manufacturers are placing greater importance on securing logistics partners that can provide transportation hubs, robust delivery systems, and strong installation capabilities,” Lee said.

Digital visibility and AI reinforce the physical network
LX Pantos is pairing its physical infrastructure with an expanding digital strategy.
Its Pantos Now forwarding platform and Pantos View risk-monitoring tool provide customers with real-time visibility into shipments. At logistics centers, robotics and automation are also being deployed, with artificial intelligence increasingly becoming part of the company’s technology roadmap.
The goal is to give customers greater control over the entire logistics process, from the initial quotation through transportation, tracking and risk management.
“As a result, customers can benefit from a more convenient and seamless service experience spanning quotations, transportation, tracking, and risk management, while real-time visibility also enables more proactive decision-making,” Lee said.
Sustainability becomes part of the customer proposition
Sustainability is another important component of LX Pantos’ strategy as shippers increasingly evaluate logistics partners on criteria that extend beyond price and speed.
The company participates in EcoVadis, the Carbon Disclosure Project, the United Nations Global Compact and the Women’s Empowerment Principles.
LX Pantos has also established a greenhouse gas measurement framework connected to a 2050 net-zero roadmap. Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions data from domestic operations and key overseas sites have now undergone third-party verification.
The company says the system is designed to provide greater visibility into carbon emissions throughout the logistics value chain while supporting customers facing increasingly demanding environmental requirements.
“By establishing a carbon emissions measurement system aligned with global standards, LX Pantos has enhanced visibility into carbon data across the entire logistics value chain,” Lee said.
He added that LX Pantos intends to use those capabilities to help customers pursue decarbonization while adapting to evolving ESG expectations and environmental regulations.
“As a partner dedicated to helping customers achieve meaningful decarbonization, LX Pantos will continue to meet evolving ESG requirements, proactively respond to global environmental regulations, and further strengthen its role as a sustainable supply chain partner that helps customers mitigate risk,” Lee said.
