IAG Cargo, the cargo division of International Airlines Group (IAG) has unveiled its 2026/27 winter schedule, which includes a new direct service between London Gatwick and Colombo, Sri Lanka and additional capacity on UK to Bangkok and Delhi routes. The new program also increases services to destinations in Africa and Southeast Asia from London and enhances connectivity to Santo Domingo and San José.

The opening of the new route to Colombo will be launched on October 23, with three flights a week between London Gatwick and the Sri Lankan capital. The service is intended to support exports from Sri Lanka, particularly garments, perishables and rubber products. It will also assist in movement of tyres and automotive components for international markets.

The new route will also give freight customers access to onward destinations across IAG Cargo’s international network which includes markets across Europe and the Americas – in addition to the direct connection.

The winter programme also brings a substantial increase in capacity on two important Asian routes. Flights between London Gatwick and Bangkok will rise from three to six per week, doubling the existing frequency. Meanwhile, the number of weekly services between London Heathrow and Delhi increased from 14 to 21 in September.

Across the Atlantic, IAG Cargo will maintain connections to 29 destinations in North America, served from London, Dublin, Madrid and Barcelona. This extensive network is intended to support cargo flows along major transatlantic trade lanes while offering freight forwarders a wider range of routing options.

Commenting on the updated schedule, Camilo Garcia Cervera, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer at IAG Cargo, said the company’s winter strategy is focused on providing customers with the capacity and connectivity required across major global trade routes.

He highlighted the introduction of Colombo and the additional services to Bangkok and Delhi as important developments in strengthening trade links between Asia and international markets. Combined with the carrier’s North American network and broader winter capacity, the changes are expected to provide freight forwarders with greater flexibility and more options when organising shipments.
